 FTP Uploads

Note: This NEW feature is intended as an additional option for advanced users ONLY. If you are not currently familiar with FTP, please use our multiple upload feature or the Badongo Buddy Application.

Advanced upload options

Badongo now supports FTP for uploads only.   The following limitations apply:

  • Your FTP client can only use the commands:
    PASV,LIST,QUIT,TYPE,STOR,SYST,FEAT,PWD,
    CWD,REST,APPE,DELE,RNFR,RNTO,PROT,ABOR
  • You may not create any subdirectories.
  • You may not download any files from the FTP.
  • Filenames may contain the characters A-Za-z0-9_-.
    •    
  • Any attempts to upload a file or use the ftp in manners other than these may fail without any feedback.   This is especially true if you attempt to upload a file that contains unaccepted characters.   You may see the status of your last few uploads in the login message, depending on your client.

  • Uploaded files will show up in your "FTP Uploads" subfolder in your account.   You may move these to any other folder using the Badongo File Manager once uploaded.

  • You may upload your files with your favorite ftp client to ftp.badongo.com.   Use your badongo username and password to login.   The server is configured to allow FXP transfers (FTP-FTP connections), so you can upload files from any other FTP server, should your client support this.
